Summer food

It's heating up outside so the summer food is being cooked. Here are a few of the meals I've had over the past week or so.

Prawn pesto pasta

This was very much a throw everything in the pan and hope for the best kind of  meal. Prawns, peppers, onion, garlic, mushrooms, spinach, coriander and lime on pesto pasta with grated cheese. Yum!

Seabass and baby potatoes

This meal is so fresh and light yet tasty. Seabass with garlic, pepper and lemon, herby baby potatoes and green beans and if you fancy It I added a little Mayo for extra yums.

Lasagne and chips

This was very much a treat. Lasagne with, beef dripping chips, green rocket salad and coleslaw. So delish!

Strawberry crumble

Recently I posted about my "famous" apple crumble and this is the exact same recipe but with strawberries instead and I've got to say I actually think I prefer it to Apple. Recipe from cookuk.co.uk. If you go strawberry picking anytime soon put them to good use.. In a crumble :)

Happy eating!

So this is a quick outfits of the week post. Basically a few of the outfits I have worn over the past week.

Wide leg

Hat- Topshop • Shirt- Paul smith • Trousers- H&M • Sandals- Office • Bag- Zara.

Casuals

Jacket and Tee- Topshop • Skinnys- primark • Shoes- Birkenstock • Sunglasses- Warehouse.

Denim tunic

All from Zara.

So there we have, a quick fire post on my fave outfits of the week. Hope you like too :)

Dress lust

It's really starting to heat up this week so I'm feeling a little excited about dresses. Here are a few I'm lusting after at the moment.

Totally loving this dress from Asos. Great for summer parties, weddings or just general days/evenings out. The back is perfection too.

Smock dresses are my favourite in summer. So comfortable yet stylish. Love these two; Left- Zara • Right- French connection.

I know it's summer but you can never go wrong with black whatever the weather, in my opinion and this black lace insert boho dress is perfect with some tan or metallic flats. Also, it wouldn't be summer without a broderie anglais number, this one is currently in the sale. Both at Asos.

And for a bit more colour, this 70's style is lovely jubbly, loving the ruffle bib effect. From Topshop.

Hoping the heatwave is sticking around so I can add one (or two) of these to my wardrobe :)

Recent purchase's

Here are couple of purchases I've made recently. I've yet to wear them so pics to follow of me posing in them.

Love this denim, embroidered tunic top from Zara. Looks great with white jeans or thrown over a swimsuit for a beach look with a fedora hat and straw bag.

Also from Zara. This bag has a real Chanel feel to it with its chain strap. Every Mom needs a cross body bag.

I've bought this mustard, suede biker jacket (there's something I never thought I'd say) after seeing it on a super stylish blogger on Instagram. From missguided It's not the usual colour I would choose for a jacket but it looks great against denim and black. I'm really looking forward to trying it out with a few different styles.

Look out for the follow up post :)

Just a quick post of a few things I have bought for my boys recently for summer.

Top two- Zara • Sandals- Next • Shorts- H&M.

Left top- Next • Top right- H&M • Bottom right- Sainsburys.

Here are My little cuties wearing a couple of the items. I love dressing them for summer in their shorts, Tshirts with little straw hats and sandals or pumps and with the weather looking to soar next week there will be a lot of summer cuteness happening :)

Come on Vogue

It's probably a little dangerous for me to follow Alexa Chung on Instagram as I want most of the  items of clothing that she wears in her pics. I especially loved this outfit she wore to the Vogue festival a few weeks back. Simple "Vogue" tee tucked into cream jeans with black patent flats- love it! Well I loved it so much I got a tee for myself from eBay at £4.99- sweet!

Here we have it. I bought it in a Large so is quite oversized but give the sleeves a little roll up and tuck into jeans, shorts or even a chiffon pleated skirt with a black blazer and it looks great!

I carried a watermelon?

So Friday I got dressed into a simple denim shorts and Breton top combo and immediately felt like Baby Houseman aka Jennifer grey in Dirty Dancing which made me realise that actually baby Is quite the style icon for me. With her basic tees and denim shorts or white gypsy top with white jeans. Very "girl next door".

My "Baby" outfit. Top- Boden • Shorts- Topshop (old) • Sunglasses- Warehouse • Fedora hat- River island (old).

Thanks for reading and remember dont ever let anyone put you in the corner ;) (sorry, had to be said lol)

Denim skirt love

As you know from a few of my previous posts I bought this button down denim mini skirt from Warehouse and I lurve it. I haven't actually worn it yet but as I was trying it on (again) the other day I realised this skirt actually works with any top. Here are a few examples.

Classic long sleeved Breton. Any colour will work and Boden have plenty of variety which is where this one is from. I have it in four different colours. You might say I'm a bit of a stripe-a-holic and id say you're right!

Simple white shirt. I love the versatility of a white shirt. Smart, casual, classy, sexy.. You name it, it does it. This one is a bit of a splurge from Paul smith. Leopard flats from Dune and bag from Zara.

Floral blouse. Everyone has one right?! This looks great tucked in or out over the skirt and adds a nice bit of summer colour with some tan sandals. Blouse from Zara.

Basic tee. White, grey, black, blue, cream , whatever colour all work with this skirt. I've gone for this grey one from Primark but would also look fab with a print/slogan tee for a little more edge. Also add a chunky necklace to dress it up a little, could even add strappy heels and you have a perfect evening outfit right there.

So there we have it. I was in two minds about whether or not to keep this skirt as I wasn't too sure if I would get much wear out of it but having tried it in so many different ways I think it will most definately get some good usage.

Thanks for reading. Have a great week ahead!

Gypsy girl

I I posted recently about a gorgeous outfit from warehouse which I decided to buy and here it is!

Top, skirt and sunglasses all from Warehouse. I love the skirt and gypsy top together and seperately. The tops would also look great with jeans or some wide leg trousers and the skirt I'm feeling with a tucked in T shirt and summer flats or a shirt and strappy heels for an evening look and even some tights, jumper and boots for autumn/winter.

Here are few other 'off the shoulder' tops I'm loving.

Both Warehouse.

Both Zara.

Love this one from New Look on Asos.

I'm particularly loving these tops with denim shorts and skirts but can be worn with jeans and trousers too if you don't want to expose too much. Also a perfect festival and holiday look!

Happy styling!

Metallic shoes

Recently purchased myself a pair of divine gold metallic slip on flats from Office. They really stand out, perfect if u want to jazz up a plain tshirt and jeans combo.

Really flattering to the feet, even my finger toes don't look too bad ;)

Here are a few more metallic pairs of shoes I'm rather liking.

Ooh la la both of these sexy pairs are from Topshop.

All from Office which has definitely become my favourite shoe shop. So many shoes that I want/need!

Get your shiny on!

Flower power

It's no secret that I love flowers. Along with stripes, I love them in my house or basically printed on anything. The 60's is one my favourite decades music and fashion wise, Jean Shrimpton, Twiggy, Jane Birkin, Audrey Hepburn, to name a few, are some of my favourite fashion icons. So this post is dedicated to "Flower Power" (politics aside) and all things floral. Here's a few of my favourite floral picks.

Dresses

I just ADORE this dress from Topshop unique. It needs to be mine ASAP. High neck and flared cuffs, so much loveliness in one dress. Can be worn casually or dressy- take your pick!

I have already posted about this but I like it so much let's post it again. From Zara, I love the back details.

Loving this wallpaper style floral print pencil dress from ASOS.

Tops

Love this Daisy print blouse from Zara with lace up detail.

Very 60's inspired. This shirt is from Topshop.

Really feeling the oriental style print on this blouse. From H&M.

So pretty. I love this double pocketed long blouse from Zara- perfect!

All these shirts would look so great with a denim mini or pencil skirt with some tan flats or dressed up with a heeled sandal for a summer evening look.

Jumpsuits/Trousers

Gorgeous floral boiler suit style jumpsuit from Mango at ASOS.

Gypsy shoulder jumpsuit also ASOS.

Whistles at ASOS also.

Really into this bold blue print at H&M, now in the sale! Would look perfect with a white shirt or even white Tshirt.

To match the double pocketed shirt, these are from Zara. Team with a cream cami tucked in with flat metallic sandals for day wear or heeled for a summer night out. See my metallic shoe post for some shoe looks.

Coat

I've never really gone for a floral print coat before but this has fully converted me. From River Island at ASOS. This whole outfit is a gorge look but would also look great with jeans and flat tan sandals.

Headbands

I love these headbands for festivals, holidays or even weddings.
Top left; Forever 21 • Top right and bottom left; both Accessorize • Bottom right; Topshop.

So there you have it, a little flower power inspo. Thanks for checking it out.

Peace ;)
