Autumn/Winter Maternity inspiration

I have had a few requests for a Maternity post so have decided to do one for you lovely Mummy-to-be's. Now, I had two summer pregnancies so I haven't had to dress an Autumn/winter bump as I basically lived in smock dresses. So I will give it my best shot.
Ps. I know this lady in the illustration is dressed for summer but i just really like her :)

Look one

A smart/casual look here for general every day wear.

Jumper- Topshop • Jeans- Topshop • Scarf- Next • Shoes- New Look

The shoes are from the wide fit range as we all know the feet swell a little during pregnancy.

Look two

I've gone super duper casual here. A great and comfy look again for everyday day wear be it shopping or a park date. Wear with leather biker jacket or a casual duster coat.

Shirt- Topshop • Hat- Topshop • Trainers- Adidas Gazelles at Office • Jeans- H&M

Look three

Loving this casual black dress and leopard boot look. For colder days black tights will work too.

Dress- ASOS • Boots- River Island at ASOS • Hat- Next

Look four

Another smart look. As I've stated before the white shirt is most certainly a wardrobe essential even during pregnancy.

Shirt- Topshop • Jeans- Topshop • Boots- Office • Coat- Topshop

Look five

This is more of a dressed up look. Mid heel boots are great as, if you're anything like me when I was expecting, high heels were a no go. Wear this outfit with black tights. Click here for maternity tights.

Dress- Topshop • Boots- Office • Gilet- New look

Look six

Going a bit more glam for this one as you may be invited to a wedding or party. My sister who is currently heavily pregnant has worn this dress for a recent wedding and she looked fab in it. Shoes are quite low heeled and if necessary ballet flats are an option.

Dress- ASOS • Top shoes- Dorothy Perkins • Bottom shoes- Dorothy Perkins

Look seven

A chunky jumper is needed in these months and this one is great as it covers the bump and bum so can be worn with leggings too for extra comfort.

Jumper- H&M • Jeans- Topshop (as above) • Boots- Office (as above).

More essentials

Some basic essentials. Striped top, basic long sleeve Tshirts, over the bump leggings and basic white sneakers. All very simple but very needed.

Striped top- Topshop • Tshirts- ASOS • Leggings- New Look • Sneakers- New Look

These leggings are reccomded by my sister who has sworn by these throughout her pregnancy.

Here are a few great styles from some gorgeous mums-to-be. (Images from Pinterest)

So there is a little maternity inspo for you, I hope that's helped to keep you feeling stylish while going through such a huge change :)

And here I am three and a half years ago in all my pregnancy glory. I quite miss dressing my bump tbh.

I was over due here but still clinging on to my favourite baby doll dress :)

Thanks for reading Yummy Mummy's.

P.S....

Bobble hat love

Quick post about my most recent purchase which was a Warehouse bobble hat. I have a lot of hats but have worn the same cream H&M bobble hat for about 5 years now so needed a refresh and you can never have too many bobble hats right? RIGHT?? Ok you've convinced me, I am right.

Here it is, navy- which is good because we all know navy goes with most, with a fur bobble (loving the fur).  From Warehouse click here

Also loving these with their different colours- particularly the mustard one.

Top Left- ASOS • Top Right- Topshop • Bottom left- Topshop • Bottom right- Topshop

So yes, I am very much the hat enthusiast and if you are too then why not add a bit of colour with one of these.

Thanks for reading!

All about the fur gilet

Just lately I have been massively drawn to faux fur gilets. I love a bit/a lot of boho and nothing says Autumn/winter boho quite like a fur coat or gilet.
I had one back in 2002 when Sienna Miller came on the scene and I wanted to be her but haven't had one since despite them returning each year.

Millie Mackintosh and Olivia Palermo love this look too. I found many different pics of them both in many different gilets.

As does (queen) Kate Moss and Poppy delevigne. Looking stunning, all of them but that's nothing new.

Just a few of my many style icons working the look.

Get the look

Some fab options here.

Top left- Topshop • Top right- Whistles at ASOS • Bottom left- Warehouse at ASOS • Bottom right- New Look

Top left- Boohoo • Top right- Topshop • Bottom left- New Look • Bottom right- French Connection

All H&M. Left- click here • Top- click here • Bottom- click here

Loving all of these and I think i may go for the Warehouse number as I'm loving its fur and feather effect or one of the H&M's for the excellent price. Pics to follow of course. They look fab over floaty tops and jeans, polo necks and dresses. Very versatile. Keep a look out to see which one i pick.

Thanks for reading. Have a great week :)

Autumn Boys and Hand-me-downs

As the temp is starting to drop I have realised that Roman doesn't have a warm coat that still fits him so had to start the whole coat shopping process again. But then I had this amazing thought... I have two boys, one who was also three once and who has had many coats pass through his wardrobe so I thought I would see what Fin had tucked in the back of his wardrobe and I discovered his trusty wax Barbour- I told you it was an amazing thought.

Whilst I was rummaging I also came across his old Hunter wellies which are perfect in size too- it was a serious win. And look at that face!

Get them both here.

Left- Barbour • Right- Barbour at House of Fraser

Both available at Office. Click here for left and here for right

If you're not feeling the Hunters these are a few other lovely pairs of welly options.

Top left- Next • Top right- Next • Bottom left- Joules at John Lewis • Bottom right- Thinsulate at M&S

Recent buys

I have done a little Autumn boys inspo post but here are some of the knitwear I have actually bought. All highly recommended (andlook super cute).

Top left- Next • Top right- Next • Bottom left- Zara • Bottom right- Matalan

Here is Roman loving the chevron clearly ;)

Left- Zara • Right- Zara

And here is Mr Handsome aka Finlay in working his Zara jumper on a recent park trip- love it!

So there we have it. Hand-me-downs are kinda great. It's becoming quite handy this brothers malarky!

Have a great week

Coat decisions!

Last week I bought a gorgeous coat from  M&S Autograph range and I was unsure whether I was going to keep it or not as I think it's a little bit "too blue" than expected rather than navy- I'm really a navy girl.

However, I think I made a slight error when I filtered the pic that I posted on Instagram (too much saturation) which resulted in it looking even more blue- can't resist a filter ;) So here is it unfiltered...

It looks more navy right? Anyway, I have decided to keep it as it is a beautiful coat, so soft and comfortable and can go with almost anything.
Available here at M&S

Ok so onto coat dilemma number two. Its probably safe to say I'm the Imelda Marcos of coats because, well, I bloody love coats but yesterday I put my ruthless head on to do some Ebaying and this coat was in my line of fire.

I bought it around January in the sale from New Look and I tried it on yesterday before listing it and basically its not for sale anymore- whoops!
Bag from Topshop.

But low and behold its still available. They only have a size 12 left so be quick if you fancy a bit of check.

New Look- click here.

Here are some other checked coat options.

Top left- Reiss • Top right- River Island at ASOS (sale) • Bottom left- Dorothy Perkins (sale) • Bottom right- H&M

So there we have it, some big decisions have been made here (or not) but I least I won't be cold eh? ;)

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Autumn/Winter Wedding inspiration

This time last year I was going through the dilemma of searching for an outfit to wear to my friends December wedding and I found it quite difficult to say the least. The amount of screenshots of dresses that were sent between our girls group chat was ridiculous and yet there were still NO dresses! So, If you have an Autumn/winter wedding coming up its important to start early I think to save all the faffing and stressing closer to the date (like me last year) however,  there is lots to choose from this year and I kinda wish I was going to a wedding but as I'm not I'll pass my outfit ideas on ;)

This was me last year after I finally got my act together and bought a simple black jumper dress from Warehouse with lace underlay, fur stole from Miss Selfridge, Hatinator from eBay and the amazing Dune Breanna shoes in black (still available- link below)
I love how black has become acceptable to wear to weddings now as it's so classy and easy to work with especially when adding accessories like this. I also wore a camel coat over the top. Anyway that's enough about last year, let's sort out this year.

Option 1

Dress- ASOS • Shoes- Dune • Fur stole- Reiss

Totally loving this dress, especially the sleeves it would be perfect for me as I'm a little weird about showing the tops of my arms plus the colour is beautiful. Oh and that stole- need I say more?! I had the shoes last year and they really are show stoppers, I had a lot of compliments on them and they lasted the entire day without killing- excellent shoe game there!

Option 2

Dress- ASOS • Shoes- Missguided • Bag- ASOS

This dress is gorgeous and very vintage Glam. I love navy for weddings and this would look perfect with a cropped, fitted, white blazer preferably collarless so it doesn't take away from the fitted top part of the dress. Shoes also fringetastic and we know how I love a fringe and bag also fab! I'm finding this outfit very Carrie Bradshaw' esque!

Option 3

Dress- ASOS • Shoes- Dune • Hatinator-  Accessorize

Another Navy dress, however going a little sexier with this one with the high neck and slit front. Dune Breanna's again but in nude and in the SALE! Topped off with this lovely Hatinator, also would look lovely with a cream or white one.

Option 4

Jumpsuit- Topshop • Jacket- Zara • Shoes- Office

I love a good jumpsuit look at a wedding and this smart black belted one is perfect as its smart and classy and can be worn many times. Gorgeous jacket from Monsoon really tops of this plain look and is so pretty :). And the shoes, oh the shoes... Such a classy court shoe and great colour for Autumn/winter breaks up the black a bit too. Also available in black.

Option 5

Suit- Topshop • Hat- John Lewis • Bag- New Look

When I was searching last year my initial thought was that I wanted a suit. I love a bit of tailoring so thought a wedding would be perfect for it. However, I couldn't find the right one but this would have been it. Wear with simple cream Cami tucked into trousers and possibly the Black Dune Breanna's- very sophisticated chic!

Option 6

Coat- Miss Selfridge • Dress- ASOS

Now we're really are getting a little bit sexy. How stunning is this strappy lace dress from ASOS. It really is a show stopper and if you feel confident enough in your figure then why the hell not. Wear with this fur collared coat from Miss Selfridge to add that extra bit of sass. Also would look great fitted black blazer and black strappy sandals. Dress has limited sizes so be quick if you're feeling it.

That's the last of the outfit options but here are a few more bags and shoes you might prefer.

Top left- ASOS • Top right- Dorothy Perkins • Bottom left- New Look • Bottom right- Accessorize

Top left- ASOS • Top right- ASOS • Bottom left- Dorothy Perkins • Bottom right- Missguided

So there we have it, a few options there if you have been struggling to find the right look. A lot of the items are great for the Christmas party season too! Now I need to find a wedding to crash :)

Thanks for reading!

Topshop Surprise!

Last week I had an email saying I was "Topshop Blogger of the month" I was chuffed to bits as I don't ever win anything and to win it for my blog made me even happier. To top it off I got a little voucher from them too- it was rather a good day :)

So here's what I bought.

This white shirt, because we all need a crisp white shirt in our wardrobe and mine has lost a lot of crisp and is not so white anymore so this purchase was very necessary. I got it in Tall as, well I'm tall, plus I like it a little longer so I can layer it under jumpers. Get it here

Grey high neck jumper. My last post involved a jumper very similar but in my opinion you can never have too many grey jumpers. Goes great with blue jeans (as shown) or with black or if you're feeling brave in the autumn/winter try white. That's the good thing about grey. Get it here

Now for my favourite- this croc effect, chain clutch bag in Oxblood. I just LOVE this, perfect for a night out and big enough to wear across the body to dress up a daytime look. Gorgeous colour too. Get it here
Also available in black here

Pretty sure I am asleep standing up here but still liking my outfit nontheless ;)

Some great yet simple purchases for me to keep the wardrobe fresh. Items that can get a lot of wear with lots of different styles.

Complete the look

Jeans- Topshop • Top boots- Zara • Bottom boots- Office

I had a lot of lovely comments when I posted that I'd won this little prize and I just wanted to say thank you all for saying such nice things about my blog, I didnt think anyone would ever actually read it (well apart from my Mom) let alone enjoy it :)

Much love and have a great week!
