Cool boys shoes

A quick post about a recent boys purchase I've made. I recently had to buy Fin (my eldest) a pair of shoes or boots for Autumn/winter so after a bit of online browsing I decided on a pair of Kickers.

How cool do they look? Loving the brogue with chunky wedge.
Available at Very

Here are a few other pairs of super cute shoes/boots for little boys.

Back in the summer I did a pyjama post and so it's only right to do another one now it's really starting to get cold and the cosy nights are fully here.

I love nothing more than a fresh new pair of Pj's, it's up there with fresh bed sheets and new socks- ah the little things!

So here are some of my fave nightwear picks.

Going for Grey

Keeping it short and sweet tonight with a quick post.

Seeing as though it's gone super duper cold outside, I've brought out the grey coat again. A grey coat is a wardrobe must have for me and this one is from Zara last year unfortunately but I have found some other similar grey coats at great prices.

I love fastening my double breasted coat and popping the collar up to give a whole  new look.

Get the look

Top left- New Look • Top right- ASOS • Bottom left- Missguided • Bottom right- Topshop

Some more grey coat inspo from Pinterest. Grey is such a workable colour, I love it against blue jeans and white tops, such a fresh look and adds smartness to a casual outfit. Also add a pop of colour such as a red bag to break it up a little.

Top left- Topshop • Top right- New Look • Bottom left- Mango • Bottom right- Mango

So there is a bit of inspiration. Hope you're having a great week!

Checked/Tartan trousers

So a couple of days ago I found out my tartan checked trousers that I bought a few Christmas' ago from Tesco- yep that's right Tesco! I love a good supermarket find.

Add a little fur for extra winter style. Check out my post about fur stoles here. Shoes from Zara

I find tartan a very festive look and so as we're all getting a little festive here are some of my top picks from the high street.

Top left- ASOS • Top right- New Look • Bottom left- Topshop • Bottom right- River Island at ASOS

I love them with a loafer and oversized jumper or a basic Tee or polo neck for a casual look and with a blouse or shirt with some heeled boots for an evening look. Or go for a Cami and blazer with a strappy sandal for a more girly look. Throw on  fur coat and you have your perfect festive look right there. So many ways to wear them.

Here is a little more inspo I've taken from Pinterest.

Loving these looks a lot. So smart yet casual and stylish. I will definitely be getting some wear out of mine this next few weeks. Get your tartan on lasses ;)

Thanks for reading. Have a lovely Sunday.

Black velvet if you please

I am currently loving all of the velvet stuff, like all of it. Now velvet, to me, has always been a bit curtainy and something I would not really fancy trying but it's so on trend right now and I want it all!

So dresses, jackets, bags and even shoes have gone all soft and velvety on us and what great timing with the party and festive season coming up.

Here are some of my favourite bits.

Kicking it off with this gorgeous dress from Vanessa Bruno with lace trim cuffs and neck. I spotted this on Caroline Flack a few weeks back on the Xfactor and have hunted it down ever since.

If anyone can wear a shift dress its our Cazza with her fab pins, looks great with strappy sandals.
Available at Matchesfashion.com. Totally on my wish list.

Play suit- Topshop • Dress- Zara • Kimono- ASOS • Jacket- Topshop

I'm particularly liking the jacket. Would look great over a Cami tucked into a leather skirt for a going out/party look.

So yes, so far it's all looking very black. Not that there's anything wrong with that cus I love me an all black outfit but it's party season so we can add a bit of colour with these...

Dress- Zara • Jacket- Zara • Skirt- Topshop • Bag- Zara

LOVE the dress a lot. Teamed with some black tights and ankle boots could be a huge party winner.

Now it's as if I'm not lusting after enough bags lately, then these get thrown into the mix. I really don't need this kind of pressure ;)

Top- Zara • Bottom- Topshop. also available in green here.

Last but not least, let's talk about shoes. A lot of velvety greatness going on here. There are a lot of different styles so I've taken a favourite from each style from heels to flats.

Top left- Topshop • Top right- ASOS • Bottom left- ASOS • Bottom right- ASOS

So there we have it. Loving the velvet vibes. I will be purchasing soon so expect a follow up post or better still purchase for yourself- get involved people. ( I think all this swirly, dreamy velvet has gone to my head).

Thanks for reading!

Winter accessory- Faux fur stole

Last winter I bought a faux fur stole for a wedding and found that it's actually a great accessory for everyday wear. So I've pulled out again this Autumn/winter.

Here are a few a looks that I'm loving.

Images from Pinterest.

Some very casual and very glam styles here which shows how a stole could be worn.

Wearing my Miss Selfridge one here with M&S coat. I love how it makes it look like a totally new coat.

Also these Zara flats are a new fave of mine. I mentioned them in my previous post and here they are actually on my feet. Click here to shop.

Get the look

Get your own to glam up and warm up your outfit.

Top left- Topshop • Top right- Topshop • Bottom left- New Look • Bottom right- ASOS

As I said a versatile and stylish item. I would say we all need a faux fur stole in our lives.

Thanks for reading peeps. Hope you're having a good week!

Autumn/Winter outfit inspiration

It's been a while since I done a little outfit inspiration post, so as I'm seeing and loving so many different outfits and pieces at the moment, I've put some of them together in this little post.

To start with, a bit of a going out look. I totally love this entire outfit from ASOS. The cropped blouse with the high cullotes and snake effect boots is really working for me. Although "cropped blouse" is something I can't quite get on board with as my stomach isn't what it used to be (thanks kids) with the high waist of the trousers it all kinda works. I'm still yet to purchase a pair of culottes as you know I'm basically glued to my skinnies but will be needing some and this look has lured me even more towards buying some.

Top- ASOS • Trousers- ASOS • Boots- Kurt Geiger at ASOS

A great look for dinner and drinks with a fur coat for extra glamour or maybe even a work look with some pointed flats and trench coat.

Secondly, a smart casual look. The grid print came in a few years ago and is still very much on trend.

Coat- Dorothy Perkins • Jumper- Topshop • Trousers- Mango • Shoes- Zara

Love this skinny trousers, great with jumper, shirt or Tshirt for a casual look. Another bit of coat love from Dorothy Perkins, navy with removable fur. They have up to 30% off at the minute so get over there. I've just bought the Zara flats after seeing them on my friend, they're fab although I've had to get a size up as my usual size were too small. This outfit would also look cool if you swap the shoes for some sneakers for a much more casual look.

Again with the coats, loving this blue Herringbone coat from Topshop. A longer coat so not so great if you are shorter. Goes with casual looks (as shown) and also thinking over a dress and heels or some skinnys and heeled ankle boots it would look fab for an evening look.

Coat- Topshop • Jumper- Topshop • Jeans- Zara • Boots- Dorothy Perkins

As I've already said don't forget to check out Dorothy Perkins up to 30% off. Lots of lovely things available!

Lastly, I love me some "all black everything" and this look is perfection to me.

All Topshop. Top- click here • Jeans- click here • Shoes- click here

Another dressed up look. Break up the black a bit with a sparkly clutch I love this one from Dorothy Perkins.

I have read a couple of reviews on this top which say it's very narrow in the arms so possibly a bigger size would be better.

So there's some inspo for you. Hopefully you like my choices :)

Thanks for reading lovely people.

Recent purchase's

This post is basically what it says in the tin. My recent purchases over the past couple of weeks.

Jumpers

I've been rummaging in Primark again and found some more knitwear. These two jumpers Are meant to be a tight fitting but as I'm a fan of the oversized/baggy jumper I went a few sizes up.

Yea another grey (can never have too many) cable knit and a light brown tone. I got them both in a size 16 (I'm usually a 10-12).

Around £8 each so quality is expected but you can't really moan can you.

Here is the grey. Perfect with skinnys and boots. I'm thinking about it with a white shirt underneath, black skinnys and pointed flats for that smart casual look.

Here is the brown/ dark mustard tone. This one is a little cropped at the front and longer at the back so will need something (again, like a shirt) underneath.
Looks great under my blue coat. The colours really work. Click here for coat.

Boots

As I said in my previous post, about Tk Maxx, I bought these boots. I needed some new plain ones as I have some studded office boots which are my "statement" boots but needed a more subtle pair. Loving the brogue effect.

Perfume

I don't tend to ever buy myself perfume as unusually wait til my Birthday, Mother's Day, Christmas etc but I literally ran out of all fragrances and my husband just was not getting my hints. So I took it upon myself and bought Marc Jacobs "Daisy". I've had it before a few years back and I thought I'd have a change from my usual Ralph Lauren "Romance".

Available at Boots

Lastly, I love a new notebook. But even more so, I love TWO new notebooks. I bought both of these from Tk Maxx last week as I couldn't decide which one I preferred. So needed right now as the Christmas lists are starting. I couldn't find them online but there were plenty in store.

Lovely books with pretty gold edged paper. And who doesn't love a Coco Chanel quote?

So, yep a few bits I'm loving recently. I'm off the start a list in my brand new notebook- it's all about the little things!

Thanks for reading :)
