Some nice bits to choose from whether it's for you or your own Mama.

Thanks for reading. Hope you've had a good weekend :)

Spring Style Follow Up

As my last post was a little Spring style inspiration, I'm bringing you a follow up of me trying a couple of my fave Spring looks.

Pop of colour

My wardrobe is mostly made up of navy blues, whites, greys and blacks, with some leopard, the occasional floral and a whole lot of stripes. But I do like to do little pops of colour now and again. I quite often go for a yellow or mustard but this Spring I'm going for a bit of emerald green.

Most of this outfit is old apart from the jumper which is current Zara click here. But if you check out my last post here I've listed some similar pieces.

It's such a lovely colour and goes great against denim and perfect against black too so can slip into the wardrobe anywhere believe it or not.

Here is some more green knits via Pinterest.

Loving all of these looks.

Breton stripes

A typical one for me but you can't beat a simple Breton with jeans, flats and a little jacket for the perfect Spring style. Team with a biker jacket and leopard flats for an effortless and cool look.

A perfect and easy look for those "I just don't know what to wear" days.

More classic and simple Breton Spring looks.

Floral and Leather

Ok so we've established that the leather biker jacket is a Spring essential as are florals and even better when put together. This isn't exactly a new trend but it is one  Spring style that I like to work year after year.

Images via Pinterest.

A favourite of mine, especially when teamed with an ankle boot as these gorgeous ladies have done.

Dungarees

Last year was the year of the dungarees and rightly so. They have become a wardrobe essential in my opinion. And there is no better season to wear them than Spring, when the weather doesn't know what it's doing, throw on your dungies and a shirt and you're good to go.

Wearing mine here with my over sized denim shirt. I love how they look with any shirt but they can literally be worn with anything- Tshirts, jumpers and blouses.

Here is some more cute styling.

Also loving these two looks, a bit of a mash up of everything. I'm especially in love with the green hat, may need that in my life.

Get the look

I've picked some similar items to create the outfits. Also, as I said above some of the pieces will be in my previous post so don't forget to check it out :)

Denim shirt- &otherstories • Sunglasses- ASOS • Leopard flats- Topshop • Breton- Boden

Biker Jacket- Mango • Top right dress- Zara • Bottom left dress- Zara • Bottom right dress- ASOS

Top left- Topshop • Top right- Topshop • Bottom left- H&M • Bottom right- New Look at ASOS

So there we have it, the follow up. I hope you have enjoyed my choices and looks. I'd love to hear what you think so feel free  to leave a comment.

Thanks for reading, hope you're having a good week :)

Spring style inspo

Sorry I've been a little absent the past week. I've not been feeling great, so therefore feeling quite sorry for myself hense me not feeling too inspired to write a blog post. But I've sorted myself out and have done this little Spring style post which is some of my top picks for a bit of Spring dressing- even though it is still bitterly cold out.

So, in Spring I like to keep it casual (as usual) but with a bit of floral or pastel coloured accessories ie a scarf to add that pop of colour if you like. I know what you're thinking "Florals in Spring? Groundbreaking!" I hear this "Miranda Priestly" quote in my head everytime I pick a floral item out of my wardrobe but florals in Spring are key.

Here are some of my current top picks.

Leather look jacket- Zara • Floral blouse- ASOS • Lace up flats- Topshop • Cardigan- ASOS

I love a biker jacket and I am seriously feeling this burgundy look one from Zara. A leather biker jacket is a Spring essential in my book as they're not quite warm enough for winter and too hot for summer. Worn with either a basic white tee or Breton and jeans or over a floral dress with tights and boots for the perfect Spring look.

Gingham dress- Topshop • Hat- ASOS • Sunglasses- ASOS • Jumper- Zara

All of these items are on a wishlist of mine but I'm particularly loving the gingham dress. From Topshop Boutique so is a little more pricey than other casual dresses but it is such a gorgeous fabric and cut. Great again with tights and boots but also in warmer days with flat tan sandals (bare legs obvs!).

Floral dress- Topshop • Trench Coat- ASOS • Shirt- Zara • Scarf- Topshop

Another Spring essential has to be the trench coat. Lightweight and great for the rainy because, let's face it, we have a lot. This ASOS one is fab.

Dungarees- Topshop • Shirt- Warehouse at ASOS • Dress- Warehouse at ASOS.

Completely in love with this pretty Warehouse dress. It's not your usual floral as the black background gives it a real bold and quite an oriental feel. Perfect for day and night.

Last but not least. Here is a perfect casual Spring look. Whether it's the school run, park date, shopping or lunching with friends this look in an all rounder. The kind of look I tend to go for day to day. Altogether with a pair of converse or and ankle boot. Click here for converse.

Jumper- Zara • Hat- ASOS (see above) • Jeans- River Island at Very • Scarf- Topshop (as above).

So there we have some high street picks and hopefully a bit of inspiration for your Spring wardrobe. Thanks for reading!

Spring Home

Pretty much every season change I like to do a little home post. I love all things home as I spend a lot of time in mine so as the seasons change I like to add little bits whether it's just different flowers or maybe a vase or random cushion or something and so if you like to do the same then you've come to the right place (Soz for the cheesy line).

Ok, so as its spring the florals are coming out no doubt and I personally like a bit of floral, not too much but I like there pop of colour it adds to a room. Also fresh spring flowers are the best and I bought a great little vase for my daffodils from Asda a few days ago and it's just perfect as daffs aren't very long.

I can't seem to find it online but plenty in store at only £4! Supermarkets always have great home sections of you look closely enough.

I've taken some Spring home inspo here from Pinterest.

So here are some of my best home picks.

Cushion- Asda • Flower vase- Next • Frame- TkMaxx • Wooden rabbit- John Lewis.

Peonies- Next • Cushion- John Lewis- Throw- M&S • Vase- Asda

Cushion- M&S • Vase- M&S • Mug- Pip studio at John Lewis • Daisy wreath- Next

Wreath- John Lewis • Vase- M&S • Rabbits- TkMaxx • Cushion- TkMaxx

I have the Next Daisy wreath and even though it's meant to be an indoor product I've snuck it onto my front door as we have a large porch so it's pretty protected (not sure for how long though).

Looks pretty doesn't it? Worst case I'll put it in the kitchen ;)

Last but definitely not least, check out these M&S alphabet cushions. Last year we had the mugs and now it's the cushions and I'm obsessed. I actually want all 26 eek!

Click here to see them all.

So there we have it my seasonal home post. Some great things to brighten/warm up the house over the next few months as its still bloody freeeeezing!

Thanks for reading!

Frills and Ruffles

One if the biggest trends this season is frills and ruffles and I'm pretty "frilled" (sorry) as I love them. I'm always drawn to a blouse or dress with a "fruffle" (again, sorry) and so this trend is perfect for me.

Here are some great ruffle looks. I love the blouse with jeans to take away that overly girly look and add a little edge.

Images via Pinterest.

I recently took some inspo from a fellow blogger Thaarani of Teeclutter's blogpost (check out her blog- she has some great posts) and felt I need a new frilly piece to my wardrobe and so I purchased this blouse.

It's a gorgeous blouse. I have a navy blue cami underneath as it is very sheer and it's a little shorter on me (I'm 5ft9) so I would preferably need a slightly higher waisted Jean so I could tuck it in as I think it looks much cuter tucked in whether it's into jeans or a leather skirt. A fab blouse for day and night. Can't wait to wear it!

Here are a few more options. I'm in love with the denim one. I think it may be on my birthday wishlist.

Top left- Sister Jane at ASOS • Top right- Sister Jane at ASOS • Bottom left- Net-a-porter • Bottom right- H&M

So yep loving a ruffle, hope you like too. Thanks for reading!

Everybody's Starry Eyed

I've always been a fan of the star print but mostly on clothes/things for my boys or Home stuff. But more recently I've been very "starry eyed" when making fashion purchases. From the Missguided Pj's to this off the shoulder H&M top, which I had lusted after on a few fellow bloggers, which I managed to get in the January sales- whoop!

It's not available anymore but is avaible in a dress form which is also very cute. Click here. I'm looking forward to wearing it in the spring/summer with some white jeans or my dungarees.

More starry styling right here.

If you fancy a bit of twinkle here is a little more star inspo.

I completely love this dress from Realisation. Great with tights, boots, leather, jacket and an oversized scarf in colder climates and perfect with sandals in the winter. On my wish list for sure.

Top left- Topshop • Top right- ASOS • Trainers- Topshop • Bottom right- Boohoo

Pyjamas- Missguided • Necklace- Orelia • Scarf- Topshop • Bag- YSL at Selfridges

So yes, stars are right on trend and are becoming one of my fave prints, along with stripes and leopard of course!

Thanks for reading, have a great week!

Hello February- Valentine's Day Ideas

I felt a slight relief this morning as I woke up and realised that January was over. I know I've said it a few times but it is my least favourite month of the twelve and this years didn't exactly change my opinion as its been quite dull so with that in mind... Hello February!

Yes February is here which means (besides pancakes and half term) "Valentine's Day". Now I have to be honest and say that we don't really do V day as much as we did when we were teenagers/early twenties in our house but I know a lot of people do and I'm all for keeping the romance alive as when you have kids it can die a little. So, here are some gifts/ideas/outfits that may tickle your fancy :)

Gifts

Now I know I don't get many men coming over here to read my blog so these are gifts you could buy for yourself ie. Lingerie as, to be fair, it is basically a gift for the men and if I do get some men reading this it's also a great present to give.

Book- ASOS • Necklace- ASOS • Candle- Look Fantastic • Heart mug- M&S

Top left- ASOS • Top right- Topshop • Bottom left- Topshop (matching pants also, click here) • Bottom right- ASOS

Also these PJ's are a pretty sweet gift to yourself or to receive. Especially if you're planning for a night in.

From Missguided

Date night

If you're being whisked away on a Date Night then here are some outfit options to fit the romantic vibe.

Blouse- Topshop • Bag- Zara • Chanel lipstick- House of Fraser • Shoes- Missguided at ASOS

Love all of these items. Team this outfit with a pair of jeans for a cute, casual look. Dress it up with a red lip and nails.

Dress- Zara • Shoes- Office • Bag- Lulu Guinness at ASOS

More of a dressed up look here. Such a pretty dress from Zara, I would wear with either a white or black blazer over the top to keep it looking classy. Loving the red court shoe from Office, they add a little "feirceness" to the outfit, along with the metallic Lulu Guiness clutch.

Dress- Topshop • Shoes- ASOS • Bag- Lulu Guinness at ASOS

I have this green dress and it most definitely has "sex appeal" if that's a look you'd like to go for. Dressing sexily isn't all about the short bodycon dresses, a shift dress can give you the exact same effect without showing off too much. Would look fab with these shoes and again with the Lulu Guinness clutch in red. A perfect little date night look.

Lastly, a few more pieces to give of that romantic vibe. Particularly loving the off the shoulder, floral top myself- great with jeans or leather skirt and heels.

White top- Topshop • Heart Jumper- Topshop • Floral top- H&M • Bracelet- ASOS

Netflix and Chill

Alternatively , if you're planning a cosy night in ie. 'Netflix and Chill' I have picked some of my favourite romantic Movies. I love a rom com/rom dram as much as the next girl and this option would be the best one for my valentines evening. Chinese, prosecco, popcorn and one of my favourite tear jerkers. Sounds the best to me.

Loving this ceramic popcorn bowl from Kaliedoscope. Perfect little sharer.

It was a tough choice but these are just some of my faves.

All available at Amazon or Netflix hopefully.

While I'm in this soppy mood I've picked some of my favourite quotes from each of these movies. So here goes *tissues ready*.

The Way We Were-  Katie (Barbara Streisand) to Hubbell (Robert Redford): "If I push too hard it's because I want things to be better, I want us to be better, I want you to be better. Sure I make waves you have I mean you have to. And I'll keep making them till your everything you should be and will be. You'll never find anyone as good for you as I am, to believe in you as much as I do or to love you as much.

Dirty Dancing- Baby (Jennifer Grey) to Johnny (Patrick Swayze): "Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you."

The Notebook- Noah (Ryan Gosling) to Hallie (Rachel McAdams):"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday."

Four Weddings and A Funeral- Charles (Hugh Grant) to Carrie (Andie MacDowell): "Let me ask you one thing. Do you think - after we've dried off, after we've spent lots more time together - you might agree *not* to marry me? And do you think not being married to me might maybe be something you could consider doing for the rest of your life?"

Breakfast at Tiffany's- Paul (George Peppard) to Holly (Audrey Hepburn): "You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself."

When Harry met Sally- Harry (Billy Crystal) to Sally (Meg Ryan):"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Ok I will stop being all gooey and weird now ;). Hope you've enjoyed the post. Thanks for reading.

Have a great week!
