Hello February- Valentine's Day Ideas

I felt a slight relief this morning as I woke up and realised that January was over. I know I've said it a few times but it is my least favourite month of the twelve and this years didn't exactly change my opinion as its been quite dull so with that in mind... Hello February!

Yes February is here which means (besides pancakes and half term) "Valentine's Day". Now I have to be honest and say that we don't really do V day as much as we did when we were teenagers/early twenties in our house but I know a lot of people do and I'm all for keeping the romance alive as when you have kids it can die a little. So, here are some gifts/ideas/outfits that may tickle your fancy :)

Gifts

Now I know I don't get many men coming over here to read my blog so these are gifts you could buy for yourself ie. Lingerie as, to be fair, it is basically a gift for the men and if I do get some men reading this it's also a great present to give.

Book- ASOS • Necklace- ASOS • Candle- Look Fantastic • Heart mug- M&S

Top left- ASOS • Top right- Topshop • Bottom left- Topshop (matching pants also, click here) • Bottom right- ASOS

Also these PJ's are a pretty sweet gift to yourself or to receive. Especially if you're planning for a night in.

From Missguided

Date night

If you're being whisked away on a Date Night then here are some outfit options to fit the romantic vibe.

Blouse- Topshop • Bag- Zara • Chanel lipstick- House of Fraser • Shoes- Missguided at ASOS

Love all of these items. Team this outfit with a pair of jeans for a cute, casual look. Dress it up with a red lip and nails.

Dress- Zara • Shoes- Office • Bag- Lulu Guinness at ASOS

More of a dressed up look here. Such a pretty dress from Zara, I would wear with either a white or black blazer over the top to keep it looking classy. Loving the red court shoe from Office, they add a little "feirceness" to the outfit, along with the metallic Lulu Guiness clutch.

Dress- Topshop • Shoes- ASOS • Bag- Lulu Guinness at ASOS

I have this green dress and it most definitely has "sex appeal" if that's a look you'd like to go for. Dressing sexily isn't all about the short bodycon dresses, a shift dress can give you the exact same effect without showing off too much. Would look fab with these shoes and again with the Lulu Guinness clutch in red. A perfect little date night look.

Lastly, a few more pieces to give of that romantic vibe. Particularly loving the off the shoulder, floral top myself- great with jeans or leather skirt and heels.

White top- Topshop • Heart Jumper- Topshop • Floral top- H&M • Bracelet- ASOS

Netflix and Chill

Alternatively , if you're planning a cosy night in ie. 'Netflix and Chill' I have picked some of my favourite romantic Movies. I love a rom com/rom dram as much as the next girl and this option would be the best one for my valentines evening. Chinese, prosecco, popcorn and one of my favourite tear jerkers. Sounds the best to me.

Loving this ceramic popcorn bowl from Kaliedoscope. Perfect little sharer.

It was a tough choice but these are just some of my faves.

All available at Amazon or Netflix hopefully.

While I'm in this soppy mood I've picked some of my favourite quotes from each of these movies. So here goes *tissues ready*.

The Way We Were-  Katie (Barbara Streisand) to Hubbell (Robert Redford): "If I push too hard it's because I want things to be better, I want us to be better, I want you to be better. Sure I make waves you have I mean you have to. And I'll keep making them till your everything you should be and will be. You'll never find anyone as good for you as I am, to believe in you as much as I do or to love you as much.

Dirty Dancing- Baby (Jennifer Grey) to Johnny (Patrick Swayze): "Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you."

The Notebook- Noah (Ryan Gosling) to Hallie (Rachel McAdams):"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday."

Four Weddings and A Funeral- Charles (Hugh Grant) to Carrie (Andie MacDowell): "Let me ask you one thing. Do you think - after we've dried off, after we've spent lots more time together - you might agree *not* to marry me? And do you think not being married to me might maybe be something you could consider doing for the rest of your life?"

Breakfast at Tiffany's- Paul (George Peppard) to Holly (Audrey Hepburn): "You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself."

When Harry met Sally- Harry (Billy Crystal) to Sally (Meg Ryan):"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Ok I will stop being all gooey and weird now ;). Hope you've enjoyed the post. Thanks for reading.

Have a great week!
