Festival style

Festival season is on so bringing you some festival inspo in this post. As you will know Glastonbury was at the weekend and there still plenty to go and I love to check out what everyone was wearing as yes the music is the most important part of a festival, fashion is definitley a second.

So here are my personal faves.

Poppy delevigne and Alexa Chung.

Millie Mackintosh.

Portia Freeman and Alexa (again).

Mary Charteris and Laura Whitmore.

Caroline Flack and Stella McCartney.

Some great looks there. It's always great to push the boundaries a little at a festival because where else are you going to wear a gold metallic skirt with hunter wellies?!

Get the look

So here are Some my top picks based on the looks above.

Converse- Office • Lace skirt- Boohoo • khaki jacket- Missguided • Shorts- H&M

Dress- ASOS • Denim jacket- Topshop • Hunter wellies- Office • Bag- Zara

Leather jacket- Topshop • Sunglasses- ASOS • Dress- Topshop • Choker- ASOS

It's been a while since I've been to any kind of festival but my style tends to be a bit of floral, leather, chiffon, lace and denim.

Circa 2010 and 2011. Hopefully I will get to one some time soon. There's nothing quite like feeling free and tipsy in a field surrounded by your favourite people listening to amazing music until the sun goes down. Plus you get to buy a cool outfit ;)

Mini Primark Haul

So I popped into Primark a few days ago for some new bras and ended up on a mini haul. Tbh how many of us can say we go straight into Primark for that one thing and come out with said "one thing"?! I don't know about you but I end up filling a basket which I then empty while I'm at the till because "I don't actually need this". However, this time I didn't empty because all of the things I did actually need and want :)

So here we are...

In my previous post I talked about red stripe shirts and how I needed to get ones I could wear with high waisted jeans and a Panama. Well here we are, thanks to Ashley over on 'A Mothers Edit' This Primark bargain was brought to my attention. Exactly what I was looking for and at only a tenner! Absolute barg!

Complete the look- Shoes- Next • Hat- ASOS • Jeans- River Island

Secondly, white jeans and Grey tee. Both new. White jeans, I find, divided opinions but I am FOR them, mostly in the summer and I Love them with a simple grey or Breton Tshirt. These jeans were only £13 and are a great fit and on trend with the frayed hem!

More Tshirts- There is no such thing as too many Tshirts right? I like to refresh my Tee collection quite often as they can become to look a little drab. I picked up a classic white, grey and stripe loose fittin V neck at £4 each all of which can be worn with many outfits. Also sunnies for just £1.

Oh and not forgetting this one from my favourite TV show as a child "saved by the bell" it was only £3 in the sale and I couldn't resist it as a lounge top or maybe even tucked into jeans with a biker jacket over. Too cool for school me ;)

Lastly, this pretty number was only £5, yes £5 in the sale! I thought I'd try it not expecting to like it too much but I really love it and it feels great on! Again, would look great with a leather jacket or bomber  with either flat sandals or wedged espadrilles. Can't wait to have some good weather to wear it. I am a size 10-12 but bought a 14 just to make sure it wasn't too tight and it fits fine so I would size up if you're interested.

So there we have it, some good bargains found, quite a successful little trip. Oh and no bras bought, will have to go back- damn it!

Thanks for reading- hope you're having a good weekend :)

Latest buys

As I said a month or so ago I have been on a shopping ban as we were moving house and had to replace fashion with furniture and home things. And now that that's all done normal shopping has resumed... well sort of, my husband knows nothing about it which is a new approach I'm taking. He says "is that new?" And I reply "what this? Nah, I've had it years" seems to be going well so far and as he definitely doesn't read my blog I think I'll be ok ;)

So let's get on to my latest purchases. The weather is very up and down so it's all a little mixed and I'm trying to buy items that can be worn in several ways and in different weathers.

Jacket- H&M • Hat- ASOS • Sunglasses- Zara • Shoes- Dorothy Perkins

Love the H&M jacket. I find its very in with the current pyjama trend. I may be wearing it for a night out on Saturday with a skinnys, mules and a clutch. It also looks great in the day with a white tee, jeans or cullotes and flat sandals. It's very oversized so I would size down.
The espadrilles were also a fab deal at Dotty P's with 24% off!

Top- ASOS • Bomber Jacket- New Look • Trousers- ASOS • Sandals- Next

Again, all pretty versatile. The ASOS top would look great with white or blue jeans or denim shorts for a very summery look and throw on an oversized denim jacket for cooler days or nights. It look a lot more baby blue on the website than in the flesh as it has a grey tone to it but still very pretty.
The embroidered bomber is a current "must have" for all "fashionistas" plenty of insta love which is definitely where I fell in love with them after seeing so many cool ladies working them.
Lastly, the ASOS trousers. A wardrobe essential whether for work, dress up or casual. I've worn them in a casual way with a biker jacket and my old converse high tops. Also look cool with my Stans or gazelles.

Wishlist

Naturally there is always a wishlist. Here is my current one.

Playsuit- Zara • Jeans- ASOS • Blouse- Mango • Jacket- Dorothy Perkins

So there we have it. Hope you've enjoyed the post. Thanks for reading! X

Here is an outfit of my own that I have put together. Dress is available in my "cami style" post.

Floral is always a favourite for a summer wedding and luckily can be worn for many occasions including for casual daywear with flat sandals or a more edgy look with trainers or ankle boots and a biker jacket.

A quick post tonight but hoping it's given some inspiration.

Thanks for reading, have a great week! X

New Home- New interiors

As you may know, we have recently moved house. We have gone from a 6 bedroom detached house into a 3 bedroom Victorian end of terrace house. Yes, I know, not the usual transition to take as families of four usually move into bigger homes with more space but truth be told, we had too much space which we didn't use (yet paying for), struggled to maintain and filled with rubbish. So, in an attempt to simplify life a little we decided to go smaller. It works great for me because I much prefer small and cosy to big and airy but each to their own. Plus I already knew this house was lovely as my friend lived in it before us :)

As the type of our house has changed quite dramatically and are both very different styles, we have needed different things. I have also been selling like a trooper. eBay and Gumtree have become second homes to me lately. Out with the old, in with the new and all that.

So, here are some pics of my new interior  and home bits I have bought.

Living Room

We have kept all of our big furniture and just added a few things like cushions to spruce it up a little.

Bathroom

I haven't took pics of all of the rooms but can still show you what I bought.

Bath mat- Matalan • Bathroom set- Next • Faux orchid and pot- M&S • Ladder shelf- Argos

Boys bedroom

This room I thought was going to be the hardest as my boys are now sharing which they've never had to do but it's actually been no problem at all. They love it! *huge sigh of relief*

Bedding- H&M • Arrow light- ASOS • Black board wall sticker- Amazon • Rug- M&S

It's been big move with a lot sacrifices and also a lot of gains. We're loving our new home and I'm loving all the cushion buying and quite enjoying all the selling and bartering on eBay and gumtree - might get myself a fanny pack and flat cap (or not).
