M&S- The everywhere collection

I was recently asked to be part of the new M&S campaign 'Everywear'. The campaign celebrates 4 'hero' pieces of every wardrobe- The shirt, jeans, jacket and shoes that you can't live without. So, for this M&S wanted me to pick my favourite pieces from the 'Everywear' collection and here's what I picked.

Hero Pieces

Jacket- here // Shirt- here // Jeans- here // Mules- here

Jacket

Jackets are spring essentials for sure. The coats are being slowly tucked away and the jackets are coming to the fore front.  I picked this belted trench with stormwear. Trench coats are very versatile as they can be worn for smart workwear and meetings etc and also dressed down with trainers/pumps and jeans or as I've worn here with jeans a mules for smart casual look. Also available in pink but navy is one of my main colour palettes- "If they do it in navy, I'll take it" is pretty much my mantra. Im looking forward to wearing this with a classic breton, jeans and flat sandals/slides.

Jeans

When M&S asked me to pick a pair of jeans my initial thought was oh god. Jeans shopping is my actual worst form of shopping. I can never find the right fit- I have long legs, slight mum tum and smallish bum so sizing is always difficult for me. However, these  mid rise skinny leg jeans actually fit really well and have a good stretch for comfort and sit just above the ankle which is how I like them. And at only £15, a great price for a pair of jeans.

White Shirt

Its no secret that I'm an advocate of the white shirt. In fact I have written about it in my previous post about "spring essentials" so this one has come easy. If ever in doubt, reach for a white shirt- under a jacket, with a pair of jeans and flats, tucked into a skirt or worn underneath a pinafore dress/dungarees- the white shirt does its work well. Most definitely a 'Hero piece'. This particular shirt is of a slim fit style, however it does have a stretch to fit the fuller bust which is great because I now a lot of women who struggle with shirts due to their bigger bust (I do not have this problem *sob* lol) so its perfect for that. Plus it is so soft comfortable which can also be a problem with shirts but I don't find that with this one.

Mules

Mules have had an breakthrough the past few years. Starting with a stiletto heel, a flat mule and now a block heel like these. If you're tall like me and don't do heels unless its a night out but sometimes fancy giving you're outfit a little 'lift' as such then these Everywear mules are perfect for that. Also a good fit and comfortable. Available in pink and blue and gold oh my!

(Excuse the mini basket ball- Mom problems)

There we have it, perfect essentials for every day life. I'm super grateful for being asked to take part in this campaign as dressing well for every day life whether its going to work, a stroll in the park, lunch with friends, I love to find items that can be worn over and over and many different ways.

Head to M&S to check out the entire collection here

Have great day! x

My Spring Faves

Spring is slowly starting to bloom and the wardrobe is changing. I've lost a layer of clothing and my woolly hat isn't being used so much. So, It's time to update the spring essentials. We may all have different spring faves but I pretty much have the same each year round and these are them..

Floral Dress

Yes predictable but oh so necessary. I love to dress a floral frock number with a leather jacket and some ankle boots. Also loving the red sunnies with all these looks.

Trench Coat

Trench coats are perfect for the spring weather. Not too warm, not too cold and go great with most outfits- casual with a t-shirt, jeans and trainers or smart with a shirt/blouse, skirt and heels.

White Shirt

The white shirt is a MUST for every wardrobe and should probably be refreshed every so often to keep the crisp and freshness. I prefer the over sized look with jeans and flats- very simple.

Stripes

Now, we all have a stripe obsession don't we?! Again, like the white shirt, they need to be refreshed every so often and I believe that spring is the right time. Go for a different coloured stripe (if you're bored of the classic navy and white) to mix it up or stick with the classics because all stripes are life!

Flats

Seeing as its getting milder out and we are all baring our ankles a bit, we may aswell add some new flats to our spring wardrobe hadn't we? I like a simple black flat with a slightly pointed toe for my 'go to' pair of flats. They go with everything and look stylish and smart.

Top picks

Top left- Topshop // Top right- H&M // Bottom left- H&M // Bottom right- River Island.

Sunglasses

I'm all about the shades. When the wooly hats come off, the shades come on. I feel like I always need some kind of head accessory. Am I alone in this? Sunglasses are a necessity and I prefer them quite bold or patterned as I don't do much jewellery and they can dress up an otherwise plain outfit.

Top left- Warehouse at ASOS // Top right- Mango // Bottom left- Topshop // Bottom right- Zara.

Soooo, those are my spring faves. All pretty versatile items that can be worn in many ways during the unpredictable spring months.

Gingham

Gingham is around year after year but this season I feel we are inundated with so many gorgeous gingham items. So many blouses and dresses to choose from and it's up there with stripes for me, especially in the summer. I love a gingham shirt with blue jeans and flat sandals for a fresh daytime look. I rarely do gingham in the evening but with all the skirt options it may have to happen.

Here are some styling ideas.. as I said blue blue jeans and gingham is so "on point"!
