Spring outfit inspiration

Since I've been on a shopping ban as we're moving house and fashion has had to take a back seat *rolls eyes* I've been seeing a lot of things that are making my wishlist verrrry long- Sod's law I know.

So, I thought I'd put together and share  some of my spring outfit ideas as I have them but they're not going anywhere near my body :( (not yet anyway).

It's cold, we all know it, we're all sad about it and we're all desperate to get our summer gear on... But it doesn't have to be too bad as these outfits are great for the current weather situ.

Outfit one

I love a sweatshirt and I love embroidery so I'm loving the two combined in this Mango one.

Sweatshirt- Mango • Sunglasses- Zara • Sandals- Next • Mom jeans- Topshop

Outfit two

I'm pretty obsessed with floral midi dresses at the moment and this Warehouse one is currently in the sale at £35. Swap the heels for black Converse for a daytime look.

Dress- Warehouse • Biker jacket- Topshop • Shoes- Public Desire • Converse- Office

Outfit three

I saw this bomber jacket on the gorgeous Alex of The Frugailty and LOVE it. Can be worn with most things but I like it with a basic tee and high waisted trousers and birks for a relaxed vibe.

Bomber jacket- Bershka • Tshirt- H&M • Birkenstocks- Office • Trousers- ASOS

Outfit four

Dungarees and a blouse is always a winner for me. This outfit would look great with a trench coat over.

Dungarees- Topshop • Blouse- Zara • Shoes- Zara

Outfit five

This is one of my own outfits. I have a feeling this jumper will be over worn- so comfy and would look great with a crisp white shirt underneath as I've gone for a bigger size to make it oversized. Just need these gorgeous shoes to top the look off.

Jumper- H&M • Jeans- ASOS • Shoes- Zara • Sunglasses- Warehouse (old similar here

So yes, wishlist is getting longer and longer as we speak. Can't wait to get my shopping mojo back!

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed my outfit ideas :)

More frilly love

I'm becoming quite addicted to frills. I did a frill/ruffle aka "fruffle" post a while back and I'm still not passed the phase so I'm doing another as gorgeous frilly pieces keep on appearing on the highstreet and I want them all!

It's a huge trend this season and I love all the different looks and ways that frills are being styled. And I'm even more so loving them with a high neck, giving the Victorian feel.

So here are some of my top frilly, high neck picks.

I happen to have the bottom left blue shirt with neck tie from ASOS and love it, its a perfect shirt for this look and at a great price.

Top left- ASOS • Top right- Topshop • Bottom left- ASOS • Bottom right- Dahlia

My personal fave is this ASOS number.

And finally, channeling a little bit of Gucci (without the price tag) how fab-u-lous are these loafers?!!
Both from Topshop. For gold click here. For black click here. I have just come to realise that the black are sold out online- Boo! Hopefully still available in store.

Spring/Summer wishlist

I know I'm probably not the only one who is getting excited by this little bit of sun we're having, we've waiting so long right? We deserve it! ;)

So, with that said I have put together a little Spring/summer wishlist. Here are my top picks.

Kimono jacket- H&M • Sunglasses- Zara • Bag- Mango • Dress- ASOS.

Particularly loving the H&M kimono style jacket. It would look fab with a white tee, jeans and flat sandals for a daytime look and in the evening with the matching shorts (here), a cream or black cami and some wedges. (I can't seem to find the link to the jacket but is definitely available on the H&M app)

Mango has got seriously strong bag game at the moment and I'm all about this straw bucket bag. A bit more of a beach bag so perfect if you're off on your hols anytime soon (not me- *cries*). Get it here

Floral Dress- Topshop • Blouse- Mango  • Trench coat- Topshop • Shirt dress- ASOS

The Topshop tea dress is a top favourite for me. Love that is is wrapped and frilled. Would look perfect with leather biker jacket and ankle boots too add some edge. And as the Alexa trench is hard to get, this Topshop one isn't far off. Love it!

Left- H&M • Top right- Topshop • Bottom right- Topshop

It wouldn't be Spring/summer for me without a new jumpsuit and these are all gorge.

Top left- Next • Top right- Boden • Bottom left- Boden • Bottom right- Office

I'm still yet to own some espadrilles and loving this Office pair and in the sale!

Speaking of shoes, this week I bought the Next sliders and I basically adore them. So comfortable and on trend.

Get them here at Next. Available in a few colours, the tan are also on the wishlist.

That's it (for now) I'm sure other pieces will pop up and end up on the wishlist too. Let's hope the summer vibes stay :)

Shacket vibes

The shirt jacket's aka "Shacket's" are back out in full swing again this spring. I've dusted mine off this weekend when the sun came out a little and I still love wearing it. Such a laid back, cool style to wear.

As shown here by these gorgeous ladies, the Shacket looks great with a simple tee and jeans yet still giving plenty of style.

Or you could do an Olivia Palermo and wear with a Poloneck and some leather, a look I wouldn't have thought would look so well with a khaki jacket.

I had this one last year from Topshop but are plenty more on the highstreet to pick from. Wearing it with white T-shirt but I also love it with a breton or a grey sweatshirt.

Top picks

So, here are some of my top Shacket and khaki jacket picks!

Top left- Topshop • Top right- Topshop •
Bottom left- Zara • Bottom right- Zara

Left- Matalan • Right- Warehouse at ASOS

There we have it, a cool and easy style and most definitely a wardrobe essential.

Thanks for reading, hope you had a great weekend!

Archive by Alexa- My top picks

Exciting times today as the launch of Alexa Chung's range for Marks and Spencer's. Alexa has got to be one of this generations top fashion icons- well, she is for me, ever since I first saw her "Popworld" on channel 4 she has been inspiring me with her unique and effortless style and now you can get her own designs straight from Marks'.

There is a fab mix of trends from different decades from the 40's, to the 70's right through to the noughties and all at a reasonable price.

So here are my fave picks.

Trench coat- click here • The Harry dress- click here • The Harry blouse- click here • Jumper- click here

The Eliza dress- click here • The Misty dress- click here.

It's a 31 piece collection but I've narrowed it down to the top 6 items that I could see myself wearing. I've heard some things about sizing so I would personally prefer a trip to store to try some (everything) on.

There we have it. Get it while you can as I believe it's selling pretty fast. I am trying to be good and not buy too much as we are moving house and need to put my money on furniture and not fashion *cries* but hoping to get down to the store for a little fashion parade. Maybe I'll sneak the Harry blouse in ;)

Thanks for reading guys!

Soak it up

So recently I was kindly asked to collaborate with Kaleidoscope on the new SS16 campaign #soakitup. They have some cute summer pieces in to suit many styles of which I had the pleasure of choosing from.

Blouse- click here • Shoes- click here • Bag- click here • Necklace- click here

The bag is my favourite as I do like a box clutch, also with chain to wear as a cross body bag. Great for those summer nights out. Oh and its in the sale- Win!

Secondly the dipped hem stripe shirt is perfect for casual summer and evening wear and even to through over your swim suit on the beach.

Team with jeans or denim shorts for a casual day look. The mules are also from kaleidoscope and are low heeled so comfortable enough to keep with the casual vibe.

For an evening look, tuck into a pleated skirt as I've done here. (This skirt is old but similar here also from Kaleidoscope and in the sale.)
A very versatile item to have, and we all love a stripe!

Be sure to get over to Kaleidoscope and check out their wide range of holiday items. http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk

Check out the TV ad here.

In my make up bag

As I've said before, I'm not great with make up. I wish I could get excited about all the amazing products available these days but I do struggle; probably because I just don't have the patience. I'm very much a basic foundation, blusher and bit of bronzer type of girl. And no matter how many videos of the lovely Tanya Burr and Lisa Eldridge I watch I still can't get it right!

SO, with this said, I am trying to become more enthusiastic about it all and get involved with all the brushes and highlighters and setting powders- oh my! Because my darker circles seem to be getting darker by the day (aarghhh) and I could do with a bit of contouring now and then.

Let's get started.

Face

On my face, after cleansing, toning and moisturising, I use Boots own Natural collection concealer, followed by Mac 'studio fix fluid' foundation using Real Techniques 'expert face brush', followed YSL 'touché elcat' for my dark circles and finish of with NARS 'setting powder' on my oily tzone using Real Tecniques 'setting brush'.

Eyes and brows

For my eyelids I use Mac 'Amber times nine' eye shadow palette using my Mac '275se' brush, followed by Mac 'false lashes waterproof' mascara. Then for brows I use Mac 'veluxe brow liner' in deep brunette- I brows tinted at a salon but when the tint wears away I use this.

Cheeks

For cheeks I use my Real Techniques 'contour brush' and my Mac 'matte bronze' bronzing powder to do a little contour on the cheek bones, followed by Mac 'mineralize blush' on the actual cheeks using Real Techniques 'blush brush' which I also use to apply some bronzer down my nose and across my forehead for a little sun kissed look.

Lips

Lastly I do lips. Using this Real techniques 'concealer brush' (well I think it's a concealer brush but the name has worn off, anyhow I use it for lips) to apply either a little Mac 'velvet teddy', Or Natural collection 'berry sorbet' and if I'm feeling a little more adventurous or glam I may go for Kate moss for Rimmel 'Rossetto 30'.

So there we have it and here is my day to day make up look..
Its a little simple and natural and is how I feel most comfortable :)
Everyone has different looks which suit them and this is mine. I hope you enjoyed the post. its a little out of my comfort zone as fashion is more my 'thing' but I am enjoying my new efforts for make up.

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a grear weekend :)

Neckerchiefs

I am loving the current neckerchief trend. I've always been a scarf loving person and have built up quite the scarf collection over the years but never a neckerchief and so I thought I'd try it out.

This one is from ASOS. Teamed with an old white Paul smith shirt and high waisted jeans also ASOS

Here is some more styling.

Top left- Topshop • Top right- ASOS • Bottom left- Topshop • Bottom right- Missguided

My verdict is, I love the look however I doubt I could keep it on for long but you can always turn it into another accessory ie tie it around your arm for some cool wrist wear or alternatively around your handbag and I give you "bagerchief"...

So there we have it, a great style with many options. Hope it's inspired a little, if love to hear what you think.

Thanks for reading, hope you're having a good week!

Prints- Gingham check

Talking about gingham/check in this post. I like a bit of check. I find tartan works great in the autumn/winter and festive months and gingham is more of a spring summer vibe as it is quite country chic, especially when teamed with a straw fedora and some dungarees.

Here are some fave gingham/check looks.

Photos via Pinterest.

From skirts, dresses, shirts and trousers, gingham is a print that works in many different wardrobe pieces.

I personally tend to go for shirts as it shown here in these to oldie but goodies from Topshop and Zara.

However I am quite fancying a skirt. Worn with a white tee and lace up sandals for summer- that's an outfit I can get on board with!

Top picks

Here are some top gingham picks of mine. Some gorgeous pieces to choose from.

Blouse- ASOS • Shirt dress- Topshop • Trousers- Topshop • Pinafore dress- Whistles at ASOS

Massively loving the pinafore dress. As I'm not a big fan of showing my arms (weird I know) I would wear it with a white shirt underneath and maybe a leather jacket over the top.

Shirt- New look at ASOS • Top right- Zara • Skirt- M&S • Bottom right- ASOS

As I said above about skirts, I think this one from M&S is a winner!

Well that's all people, hope you enjoyed thre post and maybe it's given you a little inspiration.

Thanks for reading, hope you're having a lovely weekend and are enjoying this much needed sun :)
